“But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:32
As believers, when we fail or compromise in weakness – we so quickly fall prey to a sense of shame and guilt. We grow weary from circumstances that shake our faith, and facing our weakness day after day. But when your hope is challenged, remember Jesus’ promise to Peter.
He is standing for you. When you committed yourself to Christ, He committed Himself to you as well. He is not surprised at our weakness or at all shocked at our struggle and instead stands for us, interceding that our faith would not fail. Find strength in Christ by running to him in your weakness.
When your hope is being crushed, remember this, He will always be more dedicated to you than you are even to yourself. When you heart condemns, He is greater than your heart. (1 John 3:20).
If He was willing to die for you when you hated Him, how much more is He willing to give now that you love Him? Even when you feel like you’ve betrayed Him, with sincerity and without fear, run to Christ and receive the forgiveness that He paid dearly for.
In your struggle, do not lose hope, do not be discouraged, you are not alone. Have courage and keep your faith in the one who died for you and rose again, now living to make intercession for you.
“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Heb. 7:25
“Christ…at the right hand of God, who makes intercession for us.” Rom. 8:34
